Overview:

Something Navy is looking for a rockstar Manager of Merchandise Planning & Allocation who will own end-to-end analysis and execution of planning and allocation strategies for the business with the goal of achieving the company’s objectives on topline growth, inventory efficiency, and capacity management. The Manager of Planning and Allocation will play a key role in the continued strategic growth of our omnichannel business as we continue to scale.  Reporting to the Head of Planning, the ideal candidate for this role is a strategic and analytical thinker with a proven track record in optimizing an omnichannel business through investment, inventory, pricing, and allocation levers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Wholesale teams to identify assortment opportunities unique to each channel, ensuring productivity, seasonality, and overall business health is protected.

  • Manage the Open to Buy process for all channels, ensuring inventory levels are properly balanced and sales trends are captured in re-forecasting to present to leadership. Recommend chase, cuts, pull-forwards, and other inventory action as the business case dictates.

  • Develop the pre-season investments and style-level buys for the SN business; use data-driven analysis to inform Merchandising and Design on prior seasons performance.

  • Provide daily and weekly sales reports on business, as well as launch and quarter-level hindsight and analysis.

  • Partner with Marketing and Ecommerce teams as needed to ensure key investments and big ideas are highlighted via email, social, and website assets.

  • Replenish and allocate to stores as needed to ensure proper inventory levels and the right mix of product for each store footprint.

  • Assist with analysis of potential new store openings; support work on budget-setting at a per-store basis based on location, square footage, and other internal and external factors.

  • Develop and refine reporting to analyze omnichannel performance; support strategic company initiatives and ad-hoc requests from leadership team.

  • Work in partnership with field associates to support store needs and specific market opportunities.

  • Manage the size breakdown and size hindsight process, ensuring they are created and maintained based on real-time customer and market data.

  • Ensure needs of business across ecommerce and store channels are appropriately balanced to maximize profitability.

  • Provide team members with clear direction that is aligned with business needs and objectives.

  • Build and leverage relationships with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, Logistics) and key cross-functional leaders to drive efficiencies and effective inventory management.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in Merchandise Planning and Allocation.

  • Ability to manage and maintain relationships with multiple internal stakeholders.

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end planning and allocation strategy and process for an omnichannel retailer; wholesale experience a plus.

  • Proficient in systems such as Oracle Netsuite, Shopify, and Toolio, with the ability to build reports and tools as needed in Excel or other quantitative software to support requisite analysis.
