Heat-Proof Beauty Looks to Try Now

Every new season brings a much-needed update to our beauty and skincare regimen.
And now that summer is here, it’s time to tailor our routines to the new season. Hot summer weather brings up an entirely new mix of skin concerns–sweat can cause clogged pores and acne, sun damage can easily pop up if you’re not using SPF meticulously, and humidity can cause your entire makeup look to melt away. We asked Dana and Taylor, our resident beauty gurus, to share their favorite beauty looks for the summer season. Below, check out their step-by-step guides to mastering these summer-approved beauty looks.

Dana's Glowy Summer Look

How to get the look:

  1. Apply True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil to face and neck area. Pat into skin.

  2. Apply ILIA Beauty's Super Serum Skin Tint to even out your complexion and keep your skin glowing.

  3. Apply Tarte's Creaseless Concealer under your eyes in a triangle shape, and apply around your nose or any other places you may have redness or a blemish.

  4. Brush your brows upwards and use Tom Ford Beauty's Brow Sculptor to shape them. Use the pencil in upward motions to feather your brows.

  5. To enhance your natural brow arch and bone, apply RMS Beauty's Living Luminizer for a natural glow.

  6. Sweep some of Kosas' Moisturizing Baked Bronzer for a warm glow. Blend it in to achieve a sun-kissed look.

  7. Tap some of the Living Luminizer around your cheekbone area and blend in with the bronzer.

  8. Apply at least one coat of ILIA's Limitless Lasah Mascara to both your top and bottom lashes. Apply less to your bottom lashes to keep it looking natural. Your eyelashes will look like falsies!

  9. Condition your lips with Naturopathica's sweet cherry Lip Butter.

  10. Lastly, apply a coat of Kosas' Wet Lip Oil Gloss for a swipe of pink.

Taylor's 'No Makeup' Makeup Look

How to get the look:

  1. Wash your face with a gel cleanser, like the Milky Jelly Cleanser from Glossier.

  2. Apply a daily sunscreen to protect your skin.

  3. Use Glossier's Futuredew to prime your skin and enhance your natural glow.

  4. Apply ILIA's true Skin Serum Concealer to cover up any discoloration or blemishes. This gives you a natural "no makeup" finish.

  5. Set your skin with Glossier's Wowder–it will help cover any other problem areas.

  6. Define your brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. Create small upward strokes that mimic your eyebrow hair.

  7. To get a perfectly brushed and feathered brow, use Glossier's Boy Brow. This will set your brows and fill in super-thin areas.

  8. Apply Glossier's Haloscope to all the points of your face where the light naturally falls. Try to accentuate your cheeks and nose to create a natural glow.

  9. To get that "no makeup" natural-looking glow, apply a cream brush, like Shisheido's Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush. It gives you the perfect amount of natural rosiness and accentuates your cheeks.

  10. Lastly, apply Taylor's favorite lip balm, Summer Friday's Lip Butter Balm, to your lips for a  hydrated look.
