5 Vodka Cocktail Ideas For Your Next Happy Hour
When happy hour rolls around, you can find us sipping on a few of our favorite cocktails, and National Vodka Day is no exception. We put together a very special edition of SN Eats in honor of the day, complete with five cocktail recipes to follow before you say cheers.
Spiced Cider Mule
Ingredients:
1.5 ounce vodka (I used Tito's!)
3 ounces spiced apple cider
1 ounce ginger beer
1 cinnamon stick, to garnish
Directions:
Mix vodka, apple cider, and ginger beer into a glass with ice
You can also serve it warm–just heat up the spiced apple cider first!
Garnish with cinnamon stick
Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients:
1.5 shots of vodka
1 shot Kahlua
2 shots of pumpkin spice creamer
2-3 Graham crackers
1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
Directions:
Fill the glass with ice
Pour in the vodka, Kahlua, and creamer
Stir to combine
Garnish with cinnamon sticks
For the rim: Crush graham crackers and combine with pumpkin pie spice. Coat the rim of a glass with water or honey, and then dip it into the graham mixture to coat.
Hot Toddy
Ingredients:
1.5 ounces Ketel One vodka
4 ounces turmeric ginger tea (Earl Grey works great here too!)
1/4 ounces lemon juice
1 dollop of honey
A pinch of cinnamon
1 lemon slice to garnish
Directions:
Brew tea to your liking
Mix tea and Ketel One vodka in a glass
While stirring, add lemon juice, honey, and cinnamon
Stir and garnish with lemon
Serve warm!
Moscow Mule
Ingredients:
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce of ginger beer
Lime slices and wedges for garnish
Directions:
Fill a glass with ice (Moscow Mules are traditionally served in copper mugs, but I love them in any glass!)
Pour vodka and lime juice into glass
Add ginger beer and stir to combine
Finish the drink off with lime slices and wedges to garnish
Enjoy!
Basil Vodka Gimlet
Ingredients:
4-6 fresh basil leaves
Juice of one lime
2 ounces vodka (this is amazing with gin or tequila as well really any clear spirit should work)
½ ounce simple syrup
Directions:
Add the basil leaves and the simple syrup to a cocktail shaker and muddle until the basil leaves are crushed
Juice one full fresh lime into the cocktail shaker
Add the vodka and fill the cocktail shaker with ice
Shake until cold
Strain the drink into a martini or coup glass
Garnish with a fresh basil leaf
Enjoy!
